I'm still here, trying to get a million things accomplished before re-launching this site... but bear with me, it will happen!
In the meantime, you can always find me every tuesday morning on east village radio playing french pop for two hours, as well as, every other friday or so at Lotus spinning the latest and classic dancefloor hits.
I do have to make an announcement, and that is that Die Romantik has decided to close shop. They had officially been a band since 2005, but have known each other and played music together since their high school days. In their 3 years run, they self-released an EP and one incredible album. They played memorable shows all around town, including the Mercury lounge and the Bowery Ballroom. After having played and recorded cover songs for fun with the band, I was lucky enough to join the team as their manager in march of 2007. I spent one great year working closely with three of the most talented people i've ever met. For that i'd like to say thank you, Dominic, Eric and Olivier.
They will probably continue to play music separately, and until then, i highly highly recommend you get yourself a copy of Narcissist's Waltz.
And now, how about some live photos? Adam and i went to see Rufus Wainwright play at Radio City Music Hall on valentine's day. The show was wonderful, filled with new songs for the most part, and a few highlights such as 14th Street and Poses. We missed opener Sean Lennon, but were thrilled when he came back for Rufus' encore to sing Across the Universe. I won't get into the details of the crazy costume changes, including the big finale in pantyhoses and high heels, because you had to be there to experience the amazing extravagance that is Rufus Wainwright.

Rufus looking very angelic in his white bathrobe during the encore with Sean Lennon.

Just added:
Congratulations to Marion Cotillard for winning the Oscar for her sublime performance as Edith Piaf in La Môme (La vie en rose). So well deserved! And how amazing did she look in Jean-Paul Gaultier?

And while we're talking fellow frenchies, Vanessa Paradis never fails to disappoint style-wise... here in Chanel Haute Couture, to whom she seems quite faithful when it comes to red carpet.
