Next tuesday (january 29), Dean & Britta will do me the honor of being my first guests of the year on La Décadanse. You probably know Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips from Luna, as well as from their albums as a duo, but did you know that they are big fans of all things french? Luna has covered a few french pop classics over the years (Gainsbourg, Michel Polnareff), while Dean & Britta's recent video for Words you say was a big nod to Serge Gainsbourg's Melody video. Needless to say, they are the perfect guests for my show, and i can't wait to chat with them. Dean also has a book coming out in March, which is already getting rave reviews. For the new yorkers in attendance, note that the French Institute Alliance Francaise is presenting a film retrospective on french director Patrice Leconte, which includes one of my favorite movies, The Girl on the Bridge, showing next tuesday january 29th (in french with subtitles). The director himself will be there for a Q&A (in english) right after the screening. Highly recommended!
