7 days in paris

I'm back from a short but lovely trip to Paris (see more below).
First thing first, yestersday's edition of La Décadanse is up for your listening pleasure. While in France, i didn't get as much music as i had wished, but on the last day of the trip, i raided a nearby record store with anything below 10 euros. I'll get to play all those french tunes on my show in the next few weeks.

In music news, Stellastarr* is playing a show at the Highline Ballroom on august 23rd, check out the details below.

When in Paris, Adam and i spent the whole week walking around in the spring-like weather (filming most everything in the process), visiting countless of relatives and friends, eating, shopping, sleeping, and eating some more. Here are some photos (of food mostly).

On our second day there, it rained (the only day that it did), so we decided to go see 2 Days in Paris - the movie written, directed, edited and scored by Julie Delpy. Who knew Delpy could write such a witty, funny and honest script? Perhaps i loved it because it hit so close to home. Regardless, it's a great little comedy that has its dark moments and ends in a realistic note (sounds like a Woody movie, no?). The real treat of the film was Adam Goldberg, who was absolutely perfect in the role of the american boyfriend, finding out more about his eccentric french girlfriend in the course of two days, than he had in the two years of their relationship. Highly recommended.

We made sure to stop by one of our favorite little restaurants in Le Marais, called Le loir dans la theire. They have hands down the best savory tarts (the one seen above is the goat cheese and zucchini tourte), and are famous for their delicious desserts...

We were told that fans of the restaurant come all the way from Japan to get a slice of this otherwordly lemon pie.

And finally, we got to celebrate my grandmother's 75th birthday!
