tasty nasty, nasty tasty

Fluxblog posted an excellent 3 part interview/conversation he conducted with Rob Sheffield. A great read, filled with pure music nerdiness.

Tonight, we're CALLING ALL KIDS. That means you, if you live in new york, want to dance, drink, hang out, and just spend a great friday night.

narcissist's waltz

Saturday night at Union Hall was really awesome. The venue, though pretty small, has good sound and a welcoming vibe. DJing there for a few french visitors who wanted to hear cheesy hits was so much fun. Singing the three Gainsbourg covers to a packed room with Die Romantik was beyond exciting. And not just that, but also seeing the band play (for the first time in a long time) an amazing set, showcasing songs off of their upcoming debut album. An album that i've had the chance to listen to, and can firmly say is blowing me away a little more with each play. When it's time for the record to be released, i'll write some more about it. In the meantime, here are two songs to listen to. And don't miss the chance to catch them live at the Oh My Rockness show this monday march 12 at Tonic.

Today, i received an email titled "Vice loves Charlotte", which means (as you probably guessed) that the label will be releasing Charlotte Gainsbourg's 5:55 domestically on april 10. This is great news. If you read this site on a regular basis, you already know that you must get this record. Expect to see Charlotte all over the american press in the next month so. No touring is scheduled, since Miss Gainsbourg has yet to grace the stage.
If you're interested in checking out her acting career (comprised of 30+ films), i'd recommend the 2001 Woody Allen-esque comedy My wife is an actress directed by her real life husband, Yvan Attal. L'effrontée and La petite voleuse were two of my favorite movies growing up. I haven't watched either since the 80's, but i bet i would still love them today. And of course, there's last year's The science of sleep. And this recent video:
