I've been to Coachella many times, and the times i didn't go, i did not regret at all. But honestly, right now i'm kicking myself for missing out on what seem to have been an amazing performance by Daft Punk. Seriously, watch all the clips here, it's fucking mind blowing... they'd better come to new york soon!

I may not be so good at updating my blog on a daily/regular basis, but i sure know how to get a party started when i am behind the DJ booth!! I'm saying all this in good humor of course, but if you feel like it, go vote for me for Best Party DJ of 2006 as part of Best of Citysearch (New York)!! I had no idea i was nominated, i clicked on the page thinking i'd be voting for the Tarts, MisShapes, Tim, Jess or Tommie because they're all great, but saw my name (!!) and voted for me instead! Tacky, fun, and flattering to say the least.

On the music side, i've been meaning to post about Devotchka for a week now. I was going to do it today and then noticed that Stereogum posted about the exact same topic, which is great because they deserve the attention. Tough i don't normally like to write about the same thing you can find elsewhere, i will talk about this band a little, because i booked them a few years ago and at the time was quite impressed by their eastern european inspired intense folky-rock performance. Since then, they kind of fell off my radar, but when i was sent this gorgeous and epic cover of Siouxsie & The Banshees' The last beat of my heart, i was floored... so i asked if i could share the song on here. And there's a cool story behind it as told to me: "last year the band was playing in Montreal and the Arcade Fire came down to check it out. Post- show, Win from AF told the band they should cover that particular song. When recording for the EP the band wood-shedded it, and the resulting song, well you should hear it for yourself... "
