wound up
I'm not going to SXSW this year, in fact i've never been, but i'm sure that will change in the future. If i were going though, i'd be seeing Office for sure. My friend Nina told me about them, so i don't really know much except that they're from Chicago and have a bunch of great upbeat pop songs that get stuck in my head for hours after hearing them. You can listen to the streaming tunes on their site, and download on one their SXSW page.
Also, not playing SXSW but very worth checking out online or on the road is Georgie James, a new duo comprised of singer-songwriter Laura Burhenn and John Davis, former drummer of now defunct band Q and Not U. They both play all instruments and sing on their demos. It may sound like an unlikely collaboration, but the results make for some very catchy melodies and beautiful harmonies, with a strong feel good 60's vibe to it. I'm loving this new direction for both of them, i highly recommend you check out the music here.
