after-hours
The New York Dolls will be playing live at the next Motherfucker at Avalon on sunday february 19th, while OPTIMO (!) and Tim Sweeney will be the side room guest DJs.... that's some pretty fucking awesome news all around!
In other news, Asia Argento and Jenny Lewis will be guest deejaying (not together i'm assuming) at MisShapes @ Don Hill's tomorrow night... i guess one of them wasn't enough hotness?? Maybe i should get them to come DJ with me afterwards at the After-Hours party at G-Lounge (a.k.a. Cotton)! I'll be spinning from 4 to 6am, i bet one of them would be game, you should come and find out!! Michael T is deejaying right after me, 6 to 8am! Crazy kids that we are. Just say "Melody Nelson" at the door for free admission.
G-Lounge :: 105 W27th St (at 6th Ave).

I posted the new Sounds album cover the other day, here's a song off Dying to say this to you. The album comes out on march 21st.
The Sounds :: Painted By Numbers [mp3]
Tonight, we're having our good friend The Husky Gentleman spin at CALLING ALL KIDS! Peter knows his music, so the night should be excellent as always... Also, check out this page for CAK latest mixes for download by Weekend Steve and Eamon Harkin! Tonight party starts at 10pm, we'll have drink specials. Sapphire is located at 249 Eldridge St. between Houston and Stanton St.
Tomorrow, i'll be spinning at HIRO (at The Maritime Hotel) for Cheeky B*stard with Michael Jurin of stellastarr*! Just say "Melody Nelson" at the door for complimentary admission.
And when i'm not crazy busy like this week, i'll post some more interesting stuff...

lizard
Congratulations to one of my favorite local bands, Surefire, for signing to Lizard King Records in the UK! Lizard King was the label that first signed The Killers before they became enormously popular... expect a Surefire single or EP to come out in the UK very soon. How promising and exciting, congrats boys!

dying to say this to you
The beautiful Leigh and Alexis are immortalized on the cover of the new Sounds album titled Dying to see say this to you. I can't comment on the record since i have not heard it, but that photo is pretty damn hot...
