I'm quite upset by the fact that i had no idea when the Fiona Apple tickets for dec 11th went onsale (last saturday), because, obviously they sold out in 5 minutes and i'm ticket-less and not happy about it... so, you know what's coming, if anyone has an extra ticket for sale at face value, please sell it to me!!
In december, The Subways will be playing their first US show at our Vicious party, they're all the rage right now in the UK (who isn't!?), so it should be great to have them play here, buy your tickets in advance! Here's a song to give you a taste:

I've told every little star
Oh what a saturday, let me tell you...
First, i was honored to be asked to DJ Devery (of La Laque fame) and Clay's wedding in a beautiful loft in brooklyn overlooking manhattan. I must be a dork because i actually love deejaying weddings, this was my second. The secret to deejaying a wedding is the bride... meaning, if the bride is not on the dance floor dancing her heart out the whole time, then you're not doing a good job, because a wedding is the bride's party and we know grooms don't dance (for the most part). So as long as i saw Devery moving to the music (whether on the dance floor or by the bar), then everything was good. While people were waiting for the ceremony to start, i just played Nouvelle Vague and Astrud Gilberto. The bride and groom walked down the aisle to Linda Scott I've told every little star, and walked out to France Gall Et des baisers!, it was very sweet. For many reasons, i loved the fact that they had the person who married them read an excerpt from The Little Prince, it was really a great and original idea. Once the ceremony was over, i kicked things off with Grace Jones' cover of La vie en rose, and played about one and half hour of loungy type music before starting the party jams... Devery and Clay love french music, especially from the 60s, so i got to play a mixture of what i play at all my parties and had a great time spinning this very intimate and classy wedding!
So by now you all know that the big news of the weekend was that Madonna was going to be guest DJing at MisShapes... i mean, i still can't believe she did, and we thought Jarvis Cocker was a big deal? After the wedding, i decided to brave the rain and make it there despite the fact that i was completely wiped out, but i knew i wanted to witness this big day in MisShapes' history. Though i made the mistake of hanging out by the DJ booth right before she got there (her bodyguards were so violent!), it was very cool to see her arrive, get in the booth and say how happy she was to be there... Once i saw that, i went downstairs, listened to a bit of her set, and called it a night. Congratulations to The MisShapes for pulling this one off!

Congratulations to the pretty couple!
