Thanks to all who came to the relaunched Cheeky B*stard on wednesday! There was a great vibe in the club, and for those who got the chance to talk to Chris and Tina, you probably found out that they are the nicest people you'll ever meet. And so much fun... when Tina wasn't "deejaying", she was on the dance floor dancing and being silly. They even played Genius of Love, which everyone loved.
Has anyone else been loving the new Calla record? It's quite different from Televise, much less ethereal, more upbeat but still brooding and moody. It's really good and addictive. I can't find any mp3s from it floating to post here, anyone has links?
I'm kinda new to it, but someone needs to explain to me the tricks and secrets of ebay buying... lately, every time i try to buy a record, i get outbidded at the last second of the auction when i am the only one bidding, and it's happened every single time... wtf?? This is why i will always end up in dusty record stores!

Before i talk about my own parties, i need to mention that i had the honor of DJing the Franz Ferdinand afterparty last night at The Tribeca Grand hotel, and it was by far one of the best parties i've been to in a long time! The vibe and energy were amazing, lots of friends came out, everyone looked happy, it was crowded but not suffocating at all... after my early set, Dan Selzer took over and just killed the dance floor with his set! Sons and Daughters who were to set to play at 12am, didn't go on until 1am, but the crowd was loving the music so much, i don't think anyone cared about the band anymore! With that said, when they went on, Sons and Daughters were really good. I hadn't seen them since CMJ 2004, and they've gained much confidence and stage presence over the past year. I had to leave after the band so i missed the rest of the DJs, but big thanks and respect to Elliot for putting such a great event together.
Alright now for a bit of news that i'm quite excited about. Starting tomorrow night, i will be joining the GBH team in the relaunch of their party The Cheeky B*astard! The party used to be held every wednesday at Hiro, but is now going to take place a new venue in Chelsea called Guest House. I've seen the place, it's the perfect comfortable size, with the best DJ booth i've seen at any club! Here are the details of the first Cheeky B*stard @ Guest House... hope to see you at the party!
