viens petite fille...
I must be a bad friend, because i haven't bought Sarah's book The Pocket DJ yet and therefore have not thanked her for including my ultimate french playlist into the book! A million thanks to miss ultragrrrl, i'm very flattered!
Vince pointed me to this awesome blog that hosts quicktime music videos of 60's pop singers from everywhere, including Serge & Brigitte (Comic strip, whizzzz!), Francoise, Nancy and so many more... i've been watching them all because besides the great music, those outfits, haircuts and dance moves are priceless.

"Et Dieu... créa la femme". Blonde or brunette, Brigitte remains the hottest french woman ever created by God.

temptation
For the DJs out there or just the remix freaks, here is New Order's Temptation remixed by The Secret Machines (you can find it on the Waiting for The Sirens Call 7" ). Listen to it, and tell me if it doesn't sound like a U2 song is about to burst from the background at any moment? I quite like this remix a lot.
New Order :: Temptation (Secret Machines Edit Remix) [mp3]
Last night's gig at Pianos was really fun... probably the best moment of the night was when Nick (who was working the door downstairs) came rushing upstairs, told me to drop everything i was doing (aka DJing!) to check this band who was playing downstairs. I was so taken aback by his enthusiasm that i had to go check it out. Sure enough, on stage was this great 60s pop-punk Japanese band, wearing matching blue suits and haircuts, called The 50 Kaitens. They were playing a super energetic and captivating set of songs that possibly only few understood but most just danced along to. I only stayed for one song, but everyone around me looked just as smitten as i was. I actually took photos of the trio but not digital, so we'll have to wait...
