extraordinary machine
Big thanks to all who came to VICIOUS at The Knitting Factory, it was a great show... and of course thanks to those who came to Lit for the last ATOMIQUE! I have to give a shout out to (Irish) Chris who came every single week and danced up a storm to all the tunes we played! I'll have a new weekly party soon, so stay tuned for the details...
The entire new Fiona Apple album is streaming on myspace, and i finally took a listen. At first, i didn't quite connect, but now that i've listened to it a few times, i am falling for it one song at a time... there's a 1940s quality to her songwriting in this album that i really love, and obviously her lyrics are as brilliant as always.
Metric is coming to town in support of their new album Live it out. They will be performing live at Tower Records on west 4th on october 4th at 6pm, and at the Bowery Ballroom on october 5th and at Southpaw on the 6th. Listen to a couple of tracks from the album:
Metric :: Moster Hospital [mp3]
Metric :: Poster of a Girl [mp3]
Saturday night, i'll be guest deejaying at Scenic for The Deli's Alphabet City party. I'll be downstairs from 8pm to 10pm, spinning before Die Romantik and Ezra Reich.

Spin 20
Don't forget to come to The Knitting Factory tonight for a special VICIOUS!! It will be $12 at the door and worth every penny! It's also an ALL AGES show!
Tomorrow night will be the last ATOMIQUE @ Lit!! Do i need to mention that everyone's presence is mandatory?? For those who have not been to the party yet, this is your time to come and enjoy the great music and people who have been coming to the party every week for the last year.
Also, tomorrow before going to Lit, i suggest you go to the SPIN magazine 20th anniversary show at Webster Hall, which features a great lineup of bands and DJs (Tommie Sunshine, Ultragrrrl and The Husky G.)...
During the event, Spin will conduct a silent auction to benefit the MusiCares Hurrricane Relief Fund. Items include a customized Spin20 Schecter guitar (signed by the show's performers, pictured below); signed and numbered prints of the Spin20 poster (pictured above), designed by renowned artist Shepard Fairey; and other signed memorabilia from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Garbage, Interpol, Sting, Fountains of Wayne, and others, plus items from all the performers and DJs. All proceeds from the auction go directly to MusiCares. Spin, Webster Hall, Bowery Presents, and Shepard Fairey have all pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from Spin20 to MusiCares' fund.
