take two...

THANKS to all who came last night for the first night of the VICIOUS anniversary shows! It was so awesome, and despite The Harlem Shakes having to pull due to injury, all the bands were phenomenal! The Shut The Fuck Up kept everyone entertained in between sets with their cool mix of music. And of course, thanks to the bands and DJs!

So tonight's second VICIOUS show at Southpaw is sold out, and unfortunately if you don't have a ticket, there will no tickets sold at the door. Also, just a warning the show will start late (probably around 9:30pm) and end late. Ultragrrrl and Miss Modernage will be deejaying starting at 8:30pm and in between bands all night. You'd all better stay for Saints and Lovers who are playing last, or else... kidding, but seriously, this is an all-star lineup tonight, and the bands are super excited about the gig, so show the love.
If you're not going to the show, or are and feel like staying out all night, come to ATOMIQUE @ Lit (downstairs) afterwards with me, i'll be finishing up the night after my guest DJs Oil and Gerald. Plus we'll have tons of giveaways celebrating the release of Gus Van Sant's Last Days.

Vicious anniversary!

I'll have a real post soon again, promise... thanks to all who have sent me info on where to find Roxy Music's Country Life (the HOT cover)!
I say it's time to celebrate, don't miss night #1 tonight!

comfortably numb

Last week was intense to say the least. Between shows and DJ gigs every night of the week (and going to work every morning), i woke up on saturday not knowing where i lived or who i was. And this rarely happens to me, i usually can take on a busy schedule, but once in a while, it does catch up with me. So i had to make the difficult decision to stay home and miss the Siren Festival. I couldn't imagine having to stand up in the sun all day. I'm kinda sad i didn't go now, reading all the reviews and photos, but at least i feel better and i'm ready for this week... and before i get into it, i really thank those who came out last week to Atomique, Le One Night Stand and Lit on friday night. Seeing people (especially people i know) having a good time is just so awesome and rewarding. So thank you. (end of the cheesy kodak moment.)

This week's big event is the VICIOUS TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY, with two shows to celebrate! As most you know, the second night (wednesday) at Southpaw is sold out, but the first night on tuesday at Rothko still has tickets, so come to at least one of the nights.

I also completely forgot to mention that i went to see Scissor Sisters at the mercury lounge last wednesday and it was as much fun as everyone told me it would be. They played mostly new songs, but it's when they played the old stuff that the audience went crazy. Their sound came across far less "corny" live than on album, and they proved to be really solid performers.
