things are getting strange

Congrats to Interpol for entering the charts at #15! This goes to show (once more) that music leaking on the internet doesn't stop people from wanting the ownership of a fine manufactured CD. Also, in case you didn't know or didn't buy the actual CD yet, it comes with an exclusive MP3 of a re-recorded version of Song Seven. Alas, the rapping is gone on this new version.

Panthers also released a great album last week, it's called Things are getting strange. Here's a song for your enjoyment:
Panthers - Theory is famous (MP3)

Thanks to all who came to Atomique on monday! I tell you, partying on a monday night makes the entire week so much easier! Thanks to Christian for DJ-ing a great set. Next week will be even hotter, if that's even possible.

And just as are reminder, The Sons of Sound play the Delancey at 11pm tomorrow night.

MisShapes gets voted Best Rock'n'Roll Dance party by the New York Press!

If you have any doubt about the buzz surrounding UK band Bloc Party, go see them play live! The EP is good, but i thought that on stage at the Knitting Factory they were 10 times better. It really was a great show, and if you like the whole Gang Of Four inspired movement of new bands, you'll definitely love these guys.

Bloc Party making their live US debut.

Earlier in the week, i saw The Blue Van, a danish band who's played new york 40+ times in the last few months! The crazy thing is that the Mercury lounge was packed with their devoted fans... why would people go back to see them so often? After 45 minutes, i realized that it's simply because these 4 guys are unbelievable performers, who play their vintage 60's rock like there's no tomorrow. They feed off the crowd and vice versa, it's hard to resist going back for more. The Blue Van is one of those bands that you know will always play a great gig.
