as quick as it comes
Thanks to everyone who came to the last minute Vicious we put together on tuesday night. It was mellow, sweet and fun!! I really enjoyed '64 World's Fair, a bubbly and energetic trio with a pop-punk edge.
Aurelio Valle was just brilliant, if you're a Calla fan, you'd most likely really appreciate his solo performance. He played a mix of Calla songs and covers, just his guitar and quiet voice. It really made me want to see Calla play! Check out Jasper's photos of Aurelio.
I admit, i was too distracted to pay attention to the other two performers, but word is they were just as great.
If you've missed the past couple of Vicious, you have got to come to the next one on august 12th with Ambulance Ltd. headlining! Don't worry, i'll keep reminding you.
This piece of news may not be of any no interest to most of you, but it literally left me speechless... it's the story of this french rock frontman (Bertrand Cantat of Noir Desir) and his actress girlfriend (Marie Trintignant), and how he allegedly hit her to irreversible coma, in other words, death. When life imitates films.
These past couple of weeks have been a little quiet gig-wise, but the month of august promises to be one of the best of the year. Here's where you may see me front row center this month: stellastarr*/ Elefant/ Aerial Love Feed, Dennis Realistics/ Hightower Smith, The Walkmen, British Sea Power, Vicious, The Libertines, The Fever, The Polyphonic Spree, Belle and Sebastian, Múm, Bjork (!!!)/ Sigur Ros/ LCD Soundsystem, and a lot more i'm sure. Wow. Perhaps a good thing july was kinda quiet.
