bigmouth

I ended up in the most unexpected of places on monday night... at BQE Lounge watching Black on the Outside, a Smiths cover band!! After running into miss jinners, we decided to follow her there, and i'm glad we did. I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised, especially with the singer's voice (very close to Morrissey's). They played all the hits, from Panic to What difference does it make to There is a light that never goes out and Hand in Glove. It was fun, really.

Bidi ("are you miss modern age?") finally did it! Check out her music blog: The Jean Genie

love burns

Review of Elefant at the mercury lounge... Diego is in the new issue of Nylon, re-assuring us that he's not into the "hippie" thing. Thanks, i was really worried about that one.

A friend in need is a friend indeed:
"Have you and your space in a Enon video.
Video director David Casey is looking for a GIGANTIC indoor location.
A one Saturday shoot.
He'll provide food and help you eat it.
He'll provide booze and help you drink it.
He's been working on a batch of bathtub gin and it's about ready to drink.
He'll bring it.
He just wants to use your very big, open space.
And maybe paint it.
And paint it back again.
And that's all negotiable of course - after you drink his gin.
Please contact him at davidcasey20@aol.com if you can help or know someone who can. He'll love you for it. "

I didn't realize that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have a new album coming out in the fall until very recently. I haven't really kept up with them. I got to hear a bunch of their new songs when they played on friday at the Coral Room and frankly, they sounded good. Short too, which is always a great thing for low attention spanners like myself. I also left the show wanting to hear the old material, which is always a sign of a good performance.
